Why you chose to focus in these areas:
I have a very keen interest in tax policy and framework, which I wish to pursue further in a more academic manner with enhanced level of engagement in the areas of jurisprudence, macro-economic environment and International laws, which have an impact on taxation in the contemporary times. My practice as a tax and business attorney coupled with the fact that I am also a qualified chartered accountant challenge me to explore the finer areas of the subject further which is ever evolving.
Details of the matter that you have worked on in your career to date that you are most proud of, and why:
I would consider each representation, whether transactional or litigation, in my legal career to be truly unique and fascinating. However, as a team leader I would regard assisting Hutchison Group, against the backdrop of the recent Vodafone litigation in India as a major accomplishment. Considering the choices that would have been available to the client, placing faith in a young professional and a team in its nascent stages was very encouraging. The assignment marked a coming of age and helped in establishing credentials.
