A “leading corporate practice” is what most respondents to our survey labelled Rajani Associates, and the firm’s pre-eminence in this area is attested to by the volume of leading domestic and international companies that turn to the firm for advice. Further to this, Rajani is becoming a prominent name in areas such as banking and finance, real estate and commercial dispute resolution, with numerous noteworthy engagements in these areas over the past year.

Prem Rajani is the founding and managing partner of the firm and brings more than 23 years of corporate transactional expertise to the table for clients. One of his particular strengths is his knowledge of India’s foreign exchange and foreign direct investment laws, as well as conveyance and dispute resolution.

In the past year, the firm’s M&A practice has advised Uttam Galva in its acquisition of a majority stake in Lloyds Steel; Aurionpro Solutions in the sale of its subsidiary E2E Infotech to CameronTec Intressenter; Classic Stripes is its acquisition of Modagrafics; and Sky City Foundation in its minority acquisition of S Tel.

Private equity deals the firm has been involved in include MotilalOswal and IDFC Fund in their investments in GR Infraprojects; Sansera Engineering in an investment procured from Citi Venture Capital; and Kolar Gold in its investment in Geomysore Services.

Elsewhere, Rajani has acted for Loop Mobile in contentious work, Clasis Lifesciences in the capital markets and Orient Trust in a property acquisition, among various other clients.
