Singapore-based Shook Lin & Bok’s India practice was established in 2007 and focuses on a broad range of India-related inbound and outbound matters, benefitting from close working relationships with a network of leading law firms in India. Under the co-leadership of partners Azmul Haque and Aditi Mathur, the team draws on its members’ expertise in litigation, arbitration, corporate and banking work. The past year has seen the team act for the sellers in Manipal Health Enterprises’ acquisition of a 70-bed hospital in Klang, Malaysia, and work alongside India’s Khaitan & Co in advising DBS Bank in relation to its $40 million working capital facility granted to Mercator International. The team also acted for Singapore counsel to Bank of India, Singapore Branch in relation to a $276.4 million term loan facility extended to Armada D1, a Singapore joint venture corporate engaged in the management and chartering of ships, in connection with the acquisition, construction and development of a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel and refinancing of certain existing bridge loan facilities.
