Kirkland & Ellis LLP

Editorial analysis

Active since 1999, Kirkland & Ellis’s India practice focuses closely on M&A, investments and private equity fund formation transactions in India and involving Indian companies. Members of the practice work out of all of the firm’s major offices and, while not identified as the head of the group, New York-based Srinivas Kaushik has led Kirkland’s efforts with respect to numerous India-related transactions.

In 2013 Kirkland worked alongside Khaitan & Co in advising private equity company Apax Partners in its acquisition of offshore IT R&D services provider GlobalLogic through ODSA Topco, a company backed by Apax funds, which acquired 100 per cent of GlobalLogic from venture capital firms WestBridge Capital, New Atlantic Ventures, New Enterprise Associates and Sequoia Capital. The team also worked alongside S&R Associates in advising multimodal transportation software producer Kewill Group, backed by Francisco Partners, in its acquisition of the software solutions business and foreign subsidiaries of India’s Four Soft for $43.4 million.
