Advani & Co’s name is synonymous with “world class” arbitration work in India. While maintaining a strong base in both Delhi & Mumbai, the firm has focused more closely on the Pune market in the past year, cementing a merger with local player Nehru & Co in September with the hope of bringing “cutting-edge arbitration techniques and arbitration philosophy” to the regional market. Other practice areas of note include corporate transactions and court-based litigation.

Hiroo Advani is a specialist in domestic and international arbitration and has been lead counsel in a number of disputes under LCIA, Swedish Arbitration Association, ICC, SIAC and Zurich Chamber of Commerce rules. He is also a member of SIAC’s court of arbitration and the president of the newly formed Indian Arbitration Forum, an association of arbitration professionals formed with the goal of streamlining the process in India. Also well spoken of in our research was partner Adesh Jain, who has acted as lead counsel to LG Group, Escorts Group, Oberoi Hotels, The Times Group and the US Eaton Corporation in contentious matters.

The firm’s client list is full of recognisable names from an impressive range of industries and countries. Among the most prominent are British Petroleum, JSW Steel, Kotak Mahindra, Merril Lynch, Fujitsu, and Union Bank of India.
