EnerSys, which had already acquired a 50.5 per cent stake in Hyderabad-based Energy Leader in 2012, said the completion of the acquisition would expand the markets for its products in South Asia.

Kochhar advised EnerSys and Energy Leader in the purchase of entire shareholding in the latter from its promoters and the exit of the promoters from the management and board. The firm's team was headed by senior partner Rupali Sharma, who was assisted by senior associates Alpana Srivastava and Shaishav Udani.
Trilegal advised the promoters of Energy Leader in the sale of their shareholding and their exit from the management of the company. D Pavan Kumar handled the transaction documents and assisted in closing the deal, with help from senior associate Emil Joseph and associate Vishnu Ravi Shankar.
The transaction closed on Monday.
